FUDGE Farscape: Abilities

Abilities are many things: the powers of priests, mystics and sorcerers; the results of cybernetic or biotech augmentation; racial strengths and gifts of birth; or the benefits of an unnatural nature, such as being an automaton (or robot) or genetically engineered.  Some can be gained through study, surgery or sacrifice; some are received at birth (or creation).  All can be lost, sometimes with terrible side-effects.  This is not an exhaustive list, and there are some that should only be possessed by the most powerful and dangerous of beings.

ABILITY INFORMATION

Abilities use the following terms to describe their basic limits:

Difficulty The difficulty for a roll against the named attribute; usually varies depending on what is being done with the Ability (Attribute/Difficulty).
Resistance The attribute used for an Opposed contest to see if the Ability works on the target.  The difficulty for the Ability is always the minimum level required for the power to work in such cases (Attribute).
Fatigue How draining it is to use the Ability.  This trait is compared to the named Attribute to determine how fatigued they become.  A period in brackets after the Fatigue level signifies the Ability continues to fatigue the character as it is used (Attribute/Level).
Sustained? Reveals if the Ability can be kept going once the first roll is made; if so, the result of the activation roll continues to apply.  Otherwise the effect lasts just long enough to have the desired effect (Y, N or N/A).

 The type of Ability: B(iotech), C(ybernetic), M(ystic), R(acial), or Ro(botic).  Some Abilities fall into multiple categories.

  Absorb Energy diff resist fatigue Y
This Ability allows a being to harmlessly absorb the energy that falls upon them, whether it be sunlight or bolts from energy weapons.  A successful roll against the character's Power attribute (difficulty set by the GM) means the energy is dissipated.
  Accelerate Healing diff resist fatigue Y
By entering a trance a character can heal faster than normal, increasing the speed they heal by fifty percent on a successful roll against Power.  The difficulty is Mediocre for a Scratch, Fair for Hurt, Good for Very Hurt, Great for Incapacitated and Superb for Near Death.

This Ability gives a number of mental powers.  The first level is the ability to slightly influence a mind to produce a small, minor hallucination (such as see a flash of movement) or implant a simple suggestion under non-stressful conditions ("you've already seen my hall pass").
